CONSOLATION TOURNAMENT - (WIAA RULES)

THREE DIVISIONS:

8th GRADE TEAMS (90' bases) – June 19, 20&21, 2009

7th GRADE TEAMS (75' bases) – June 12, 13&14, 2009

6th GRADE TEAMS (60' bases) – June 19, 20&21, 2009

The split weekend format will allow us to play all games at our Memorial Park location as well as enabling us to avoid the Badger States Games which will be held the weekend of June 26th .

ENTRY DEADLINE: Monday June 1st, 2009 for 7th Grade Teams

Monday June 8th, 2009 for 8th and 6th grade Teams

ENTRY FEE: $150.00 (Tournament will provide NFHS approved baseballs for each game played.)

ALL TEAMS MUST CARRY THEIR REGULAR 2009 LEAGUE ROSTER : 15 Player Maximum. (Same School District pickup players will be allowed on small roster teams.)

(Seven or more teams) First round play determines advancement to winners or consolation bracketing, after which tournament becomes single elimination. (Six teams) First round play determines advancement to winners or consolation, after which a round robin format will be used in each grouping with least amount of runs allowed being the tiebreaker. (Four and five teams) Double elimination. If only three teams are entered in any one division, a round robin format will be used for that division with least amount of runs allowed being the tie-breaker.

Trophies will be awarded to the FIRST and SECOND Place teams in each consolation bracket. FIRST, SECOND and THIRD Place teams will receive trophies for double elimination. Individual medals will be awarded to FIRST PLACE CHAMPIONSHIP team , only. A “SPORTSMANSHIP TROPHY” will be awarded in each division to the team whose players, coaches and fans show the best behavior, the most spirit and the clearest understanding of baseball during the entire tournament.
